Julia worked for weeks planning the perfect surprise birthday party for her boyfriend, Liam, but that night, she was the one who got the biggest shock. He broke up with her in front of all their friends, humiliating her in the process.
Clearly revenge was in order.
The plan is simple. Make him jealous, win him back, and then crush his heart. Fair is fair. However, there is one little hiccup, and he has curly brown hair and dimples.
Jesse is everything she wants. With him, she could almost forget her bruised heart. Almost. Julia has one choice: let Liam walk away after everything he did, or lose a chance at love in pursuit of payback.

Anna’s Review

I loved this book and had a hard time putting it down. Julia's story is a familiar one; a romance that ended badly by a boyfriend who was cruel and insensitive.  Struggling to get over her relationship with Liam and how badly it ended she decides revenge will give her the closure she needs.

What’s great about this book is that we get to watch Julia grow and mature as she realizes revenge may not bring her what she needs.  As she struggles with leaving the hurt behind her she meets a new guy, Jesse.  Jessie and Julia’s romance begins to take over and for a while it’s as if she’s living two separate lives; one mired in a quest for revenge and the other going forward into a blossoming romance. Jessie is smart, funny and adorable  and the perfect match for Julia.

The author did an excellent job of not man-bashing and in many ways demonstrated that both men and women get hurt in relationships.  The characters are rich and realistic and unlike many YA books the author does drown you in angst. Julia is strong and smart and ultimately it’s these characteristics that allow her to choose the best path.

Five Satin Pillows! I highly recommend this book!
